It gives me immense pleasure in presenting the achievements and developments that have taken place at JNTUA during the last year. Though started at a slow pace initially, the developments, both in terms of infrastructure as well as academic matters, have gained momentum over the last one year and the university has progressed considerably on these fronts.

In the last one year, the construction of additional infrastructure facilities was accelerated and now the university has a new examination block and an auditorium. The other construction activities which are in progress and upcoming are the administrative block, lecture hall complex at JNTUA College of Engineering, Ananthapuramu and an additional floor for ECE block. In its constant endeavour to enhance the quality of education and evaluation process and also to curb the unethical practices prevalent in some institutions, the university has implemented many reforms in the examinations in the last year. Significant among them are the jumbling of the examination centers both for UG and PG exams, mandatory use of CC cameras in the examination halls of all the colleges and compulsory anti-plagiarism check for M.Tech. & M.Pharmacy projects. From July 2014 onwards, the University has introduced challenge valuation and the provision of issuing Photostat copy of the answer script to the student as a measure of enhancing the transparency in the examination evaluation process.

In its constant pursuit to become an internationally recognized institution, the JNTUA has initiated admission of Foreign Nationals/ PlOs/NRls into various courses offered at JNTUACEA. At this juncture, it gives me great pleasure to state that JNTUACEA has got NBA Accreditation for all the branches of Engineering for 2 years and UGC autonomous status for 6 years. To further improve the quality of education, the recruitment of new teaching faculty will be taken up soon.

A Course on Humans values and Professional Ethics is being introduced for UG students from the Academic Year 2014-15. A Proposal has been initiated to establish 200 KW ground mounted solar power plant in JNTUA with collaboration from NEDCAP. Similarly efforts are on the way to establish waste water Recycling process in the campus.

I am sure that with the team work, dedication and devotion of all the teaching and non teaching members, the JNTUA will definitely become an icon of technical education of the highest standards in this region.

Wishing you the very best,
