Information on Admissions for the various courses offered by the University.
(I) – B.Tech Courses offered in Constituent colleges |
B.Tech courses in the following branches are offered in the constituent Colleges at Anantapur and Pulivendula.
Eligibility for Admission: The candidate seeking admission into B.Tech. Course shall have passed the Intermediate Examination of AP State Intermediate Board of Education or equivalent examination with Maths, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects and must have secured a valid rank in the EAMCET Examination conducted by APSCHE. The seat allotment is made by the Convener, EAMCET as per the stipulated rules of A.P. State Government and APSCHE |
(II) – B.Tech Courses offered in Affiliated colleges |
B.Tech courses in the following branches are offered in the affiliated Colleges of JNTUA.
a). Civil Engineering. b). Electrical and Electronics Engineering. c). Mechanical Engineering. d). Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics) e). Electronics and Communication Engineering. f). Electronics and Control Engineering. g). Electronics and Computer Engineering. e). Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. f). Computer Science and Engineering. g). Computer Science and System Engineering. h). Information Technology. i). Aeronautical Engineering j). Biotechnology. In Private Engineering Colleges, admission can be made either into the First Year of the Course or Second Year of the Course as per the following criteria: Admission into first of Four Year B.Tech. Degree programme of study in Engineering:As per the existing stipulations of A.P State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), Government of Andhra Pradesh, admissions are made into the first year of four year B.Tech Degree programme as per the following pattern.
Admission into the Second Year of Four year B.Tech Degree Programme ( lateral entry): As per the existing stipulations of A.P State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), Government of Andhra Pradesh, the candidates who have passed the qualifying Degree/Diploma and who have secured a valid rank in ECET Examination are eligible for admission into the Second Year of Study of corresponding Engineering Branch. The admissions will be made by the Convener, ECET as per the stipulated rules of A.P. State Government and APSCHE. |
(III) – B.Pharmacy Course offered in affiliated colleges |
B.Pharmacy course is offered by the affiliated Pharmacy colleges of JNTUA. The course duration is four years.
Eligibility for Admission:
Admission into first of Four Year B.Pharmacy. Degree programme of study in Engineering:
As per the existing stipulations of A.P State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), Government of Andhra Pradesh, admissions are made into the first year of four year B.Pharmacy Degree programme as per the following pattern.
Admission into the Second Year of Four year B.Pharmacy Degree programme ( lateral entry): As per the existing stipulations of A.P State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), Government of Andhra Pradesh, the candidates who have passed the qualifying Degree/Diploma and who have secured a valid rank in ECET Examination are eligible for admission into the Second Year of Study of corresponding Engineering Branch. The admissions will be made by the Convener, ECET as per the stipulated rules of A.P. State Government and APSCHE. |

Eligibility criteria for Admission In each course, there are 18 Convener quota seats and 7 Sponsored Category seats. For Convener quota seats , apart from the required qualifying degree, it is necessary that the candidate has a valid GATE Rank or PGECET Rank. For Sponsored Category, in addition to the qualifying degree, the Candidate must be employed with a minimum service of one year in any organization and the organization has to sponsor him/her. Admissions for this category are made through a notification for Spot Admissions. The order of preference followed in admissions is valid GATE score/ valid PGECET Rank/Percentage marks in the qualifying examination (Minimum 50%). If any leftover seats are available in Convener Quota, they will also be filled in the Spot Admissions. |
(V) – M.Tech courses offered in affiliated colleges |
M.Tech. courses are offered by many of the affiliated Colleges of JNTUA in various specializations. In case of private colleges offering M.Tech. (VI) – M.Pharmacy Courses offered in JNTUA Oil Technological Research Institute, Anantapur |
The following M.Pharmacy courses are offered at JNTUA OTRI, Anantapur.
Eligibility criteria for Admission In each course there are 18 Convener quota seats and 7 Sponsored Category seats. (VIII) – M.Sc Courses offered in JNTUA Oil Technological Research Institute , Anantapur |
The following M.Sc courses are offered at JNTUA OTRI, Anantapur.
Eligibility Criteria 1.M.Sc Food Technology: B.Sc., Food Technology / B.Tech. Food Technology / Food Science and Technology / Diary Technology / B.Sc., with Chemistry, under part of two with any two of the following – Food Science, Botany, Zoology, Physics, Geology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Sericulture, Instrumentation, Industrial Chemistry, Medical Lab. Technology, Polymer Technology, Home Science / B.Sc. Mathematics, Statistics or its equivalent with Chemistry as one of the subjects. 2. M.Sc Organic Chemistry: B.Sc. Degree with Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry or its equivalent 3. M.Sc. Biochemistry: B.Sc. Degree with at least one life science subject* 4. M.Sc. Microbiology: B.Sc. Degree with at least one life science subject* 5. M.Sc. Bio-Technology: B.Sc. Degree with Biotechnology or with at least one life science subject*
* Life science subjects are Botany / Zoology / Bio Chemistry / Micro Biology / Biotechnology / Bio Physics / Food Science / Science / Seri Culture / Horticulture / Environmental Sciences / Genetics. |
(IX) – M.C.A & M.B.A. courses offered in constituent units |
The University is offering M.B.A. Program in the JNTUA Campus, Anantapur and JNTUA College of Engineering, Anantapur is offering M.C.A. Course. Admission Procedure for M.B.A. and M.C.A. Courses A candidate seeking admission into MBA should have passed Bachelor’s Degree Examination with mathematics as one of the subjects OR should have appeared for the final year Bachelor’s Degree Examination with mathematics as one of the subjects in any faculty other than BFA and BOL awarded by the Universities in the State of Andhra Pradesh at the time of applying for the Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) or any other examination recognized by any of the Universities in the State as equivalent to 3 year Degree (10 +2 + 3 ). Candidates who passed the qualifying examination without Mathematics as one of the subject in the Degree course are eligible for Admissions if they pass 10th class OR 10 + 2 examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects. Admissions are made by the Convener, ICET as per the merit at the ICET conducted by the APSCHE. |
(X) – M.C.A & M.B.A courses offered in affiliated colleges |
Many of the affiliated colleges of JNTUA are also offering M.B.A and M.C.A courses. The eligibility criteria is same as mentioned in item IX. However, the affiliated colleges also have category B seats. As per the existing stipulations of AP State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE), Government of Andhra Pradesh, admissions are made as follows:

(XI) – Ph.D/ M.Phil Programmes |
Presently JNTUA is offering Full Time/External Ph.D and M.Phil Programmes in the following faculties.
Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D./M.Phil. Admission Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have a Post Graduate Degree in relevant discipline with a minimum of 55 percent marks in aggregate. In case of SC/ST Candidates, the eligible percentage is 50. MCA degree holders are not eligible to do Ph.D./M.Phil. in Computer Science and Engineering. The admissions to Ph.D./M.Phil. courses will be made by the University based on the performance in the Entrance Examination followed by an interview. (XII) – Pharm.D Courses offered in affiliated colleges |
Pharm.D courses are being offered in some of the affiliated Pharmacy colleges of JNTUA and there are two types of Pharm.D courses.
Category A seats are filled through merit in GPAT/PGECET. Category B seats are filled either based on percentage marks in B.Pharm (minimum 50% aggregate) or GPAT/PGECET rank. Note: In Pharm.D course for category A , out of the total seats available 50% seats will be allocated to M.P.C stream and 50% seats will be allocated to Bi.P.C stream. The University reserves the right to modify or change any of the criteria or guidelines stipulated for admission at any point of time. |
